I am grateful to be alive.

Today we celebrated Cloudia's birthday and I got to practice my Chinese with her friends. You really learn a lot by speaking with others - that is truly the best way to learn a language. And it's neat because they can help you if you say something wrong or aren't making sense. For example, I learned that they really don't use the word "furen". It's very formal. They asked me if I had learned that in one of my Chinese language books - and I had. There is also a big difference between words and phrases used in Taiwan and Mainland China.

We had Pizza Hut for dinner. Corn on my pizza - yummy!!! : )

We just had a three-day weekend: yesterday we took a trip outside of the city to Yangming Mountain. To get there you have to take the subway, then take a connecting bus that will take you all the way up. It was nice but happened to start raining. The fog made the journey seem almost magical. On our way back we stopped by an all-you-can-eat buddhist vegetarian restaurant and then went to a very nice teahouse. I've posted some photos: http://www.geocities.com/audreyjim27/taiwan.html

Today I learned that you need to take out time for yourself and when you neglect things that you should be working on...well they don't get done - and that's just not good. So you should always keep your priorities straight.

i am grateful for: God's Grace and Patience; Family and Friends (the old, the new, and the rediscovered ones - i love you all); My foot that is healing so nicely (i fractured a bone two months ago and am finally walking again, although it's still uncomfortable)

i got this cool idea this morning: creating a gratitude blog - sort of like those popular journals by Sarah Ban Breathnach. Then I looked some stuff up on the web and found out it has already been thought of...

i would like to give it a try and express not only what i am grateful for but also what i got out of that day...like what did i learn...
